Athboy Tidy Towns were delighted to have retained the Silver medal award and winning the Local Authority Pollinator Award for Midlands & East (Small town category).
Athboy had a remarkably successful night last night at the Kells District Pride of Place awards. The successes were: Best Large Town; Heritage (Heritage Trail); Meadowlands (Runner-up Medium Housing Estate); Millview/Branmount (Best Apartment Complex); Clann na Gael Health Club (Community Wellbeing); Priory Gate (Best Newcomer) . Congratulations to all the town for contributing to these achievements, including Athboy Tidy Towns, Friends of Athboy Tidy Towns, Athboy Businesses, Athboy Men’s Shed, Athboy Scouts, Community Employment workers and the many clubs & individuals that support us.
We are delighted to have won the “Best Large Town” award at the All Meath Pride of Place awards.
We faced very tough competition against excellent entries from Ashbourne, Laytown, Johnstown, Dunboyne and Trim.
ALthough we did not win (congratulations to Carrick on Shannon), we were delighted to be part of such a prestigious event.
Athboy Tidy Towns were delighted to be awarded an additional 16 points increase over our 2021 result (now 351 points) which meant we achieved third place in Meath and our first ever Silver medal.
