The existing planter had rotted badly and was replaced by a new one built by the Athboy Men’s Shed.
Pride of Place 2025 – All Meath County Finals
We were delighted to have achieved more success at the All Meath County Finals at the Ardboyne Hotel on 25th October 2025.
Athboy was awarded the Best Large Town of 2025 & the Best Heritage award for the Athboy Heritage Trail project.
2025 National Tidy Towns Awards – Croke Park – October 24th
Athboy Tidy Towns were delighted to be invited to the 2025 Supervalu Tidy Towns awards at Croke Park to receive a County Recommendation award & our very first Gold Medal .
Mary Flood, Mary Lavery & Lily Mangan proudly represented us at the awards.
2024 Supervalu Tidy Towns awards in Croke Park
Athboy Tidy Towns were delighted to have retained the Silver medal award and winning the Local Authority Pollinator Award for Midlands & East (Small town category).
2024 Kells district Pride of Place awards
Athboy had a remarkably successful night last night at the Kells District Pride of Place awards. The successes were: Best Large Town; Heritage (Heritage Trail); Meadowlands (Runner-up Medium Housing Estate); Millview/Branmount (Best Apartment Complex); Clann na Gael Health Club (Community Wellbeing); Priory Gate (Best Newcomer) . Congratulations to all the town for contributing to these achievements, including Athboy Tidy Towns, Friends of Athboy Tidy Towns, Athboy Businesses, Athboy Men’s Shed, Athboy Scouts, Community Employment workers and the many clubs & individuals that support us.
2023 All Meath – Best Large Town Award
We are delighted to have won the “Best Large Town” award at the All Meath Pride of Place awards.
We faced very tough competition against excellent entries from Ashbourne, Laytown, Johnstown, Dunboyne and Trim.
