Final planting of new boat – May 2024
After several weeks where the old boat had to be broken up, the debris disposed of, the new boat installed and made secure and the boat filled with new compost, we have finally got to the point where the final planting was completed. A big thanks to all who have contributed in any way.

Athboy town centre & Pluxtown
Athboy / Ukraine Steel Sculpture
With a very generous grant from the Community Recognition Fund during 2023, ATT commissioned this piece of art from Shane Holland of Duleek. Meath County Council carefully installed it on our behalf at Thornton’s Garden. The installation of a built to last steel sculpture that would celebrate and entwine the Irish and Ukrainian cultures. The sculpture is an abstract design which incorporates the colours blue, yellow and green to represent both countries and details symbols of both cultures etched on to the steel.
Launch of Athboy Tourist Trail
The new Athboy Tourist Trail was launched on April 3rd 2024 in the Darnley Hotel.
The project was managed by Katie McCormack, ably supported by Simon O’Cróinín, Bernard Walsh, Patrick & Doreen and sponsored by grants to Athboy Tidy Towns.
The lauch included very interesting and informative talks from Bernard Walsh & Simon O’Cróinín.
Copies of the trail maps can be found in the Athboy library, The Hub and the Darnley Hotel.

2023 All Meath – Best Large Town Award
We are delighted to have won the “Best Large Town” award at the All Meath Pride of Place awards.
We faced very tough competition against excellent entries from Ashbourne, Laytown, Johnstown, Dunboyne and Trim.
