The existing planter had rotted badly and was replaced by a new one built by the Athboy Men’s Shed.

Conservation in Action
A very well received talk by, ecologist Dr Donna Mullen, at the St James Hall was made on 23 March 2026.
The theme was “Making your home a nature reserve” and the many questions asked showed the interest in the subject.

Athboy St Patricks Parade 2026 – Best Interpretation award
Athboy Tidy Towns were delighted to be awarded this again this year.
Athboy Community Person of the Year
We are delighted that our own Lily Mangan was chosen to be the Athboy Community Person of the Year.
Everyone agrees it is a well deserved honour.
Athboy Tidy Towns was delighted to take part in planting an Oak tree in the Cowpark for National Tree Week, kindly donated by Tom Flood & La Cheile Credit Union – March 2026.
St Patrick’s Day, Athboy 2026
Athboy Tidy Towns enjoyed their participation once again in the St Patrick’s parade.
Tree Planting at the Cowpark – 28 February 2026
Around 100 saplings were planted 28 February at the Cowpark. The saplings were a mixture of Alder, Crab Apple, Beech, Rowan & Wild Cherry donated from Trees on the Land & Meath County Council. Additionally Simon Cronin donated Oaks (grown from Local acorns).
A good time was had by all, especially some of our smaller helpers !
